WASHINGTON, DC – March 22, 2018 – The Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG), an advertising industry initiative to fight criminal activity in the digital advertising supply chain, today announced the companies receiving 2018 seal recertification for compliance with TAG’s Certified Against Fraud, Certified Against Piracy, Certified Against Malware, and Inventory Quality Guideline (IQG) Programs.
Highlighting the rapid adoption of TAG’s seal programs, 37 companies were recertified for 62 different seals across TAG’s four programs. In total, 80 companies have earned 115 seals across TAG’s four programs. (The other companies received their initial seals during Q4 of 2017, so they did not require recertification for 2018.) Notably, as TAG continues its global expansion, the large majority of seal recipients (78 percent) have chosen to request a “global” applicability of their seal status, rather opting than for a single geographic region.
“Effective certification programs set a high bar for compliance and then raise that bar each year, so participating companies must continuously improve their standards and maintain best practices,” said Mike Zaneis, CEO of TAG. “By achieving the rigorous recertification requirements of TAG’s seal programs, TAG members are demonstrating that they have taken the necessary steps to protect the supply chain and ensure the brand safety of their partners. TAG congratulates all of the 2018 TAG seal recipients for their leadership and dedication to building a safer and more transparent advertising ecosystem.”

More information regarding recertified companies is available by searching company name or each company’s unique TAG-ID via the TAG Registry. Additional information includes the specific seals awarded to each company, valid terms for each seal, and whether the seals were based on self-attestation or independent validation.
TAG also announced that more than 530 companies from 28 countries have now applied for TAG Registration, more than doubling that number in the last year. TAG Registration verifies a company’s status as a legitimate participant in the digital advertising industry through a proprietary background check and review process with Dun & Bradstreet.
Additional information about TAG’s programs and the application process for TAG Registration and TAG’s seal programs are available on the TAG website.
