The complexity of the digital advertising supply chain can make it difficult for advertisers to keep track of the many partners and transactions involved in a single ad placement. Criminals exploit this lack of transparency to infiltrate the digital advertising ecosystem and profit from ad fraud, piracy, and the proliferation of malware.
The mission of the Registration Working Group is to create greater transparency throughout the digital supply chain through initiatives that help responsible companies know their partners and empower the companies to track payments so that ad revenue is not flowing to criminal networks.

TAG’s Registration Working Group has developed an industry-wide TAG Registry to identify legitimate companies operating in the digital supply chain. A Payment ID System will complement the Registry and allow buyers of inventory to limit payments to legitimate actors only and thus eliminate all payments to illegitimate actors and criminals. TAG will enhance the Registration Program in the coming months to include secure APIs and features to streamline the on-boarding and vetting process.
